Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which buttons are used. It collects standard usage data such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and the site that referred you, along with events like clicks on buy buttons, clicks on our email link and contact form submissions. We look at it in aggregate to improve the site.
• Contact form messages. If you send a message, we receive your name, email address, the topic you chose and your message. The form delivers it to our inbox as an email sent through Microsoft's email service; the site itself doesn't keep a separate database of messages. To block spam, the form briefly uses your IP address to limit repeated submissions, and that count isn't saved.
• Emails you send us directly are handled the same way as form messages.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and reliability.

We don't run accounts, newsletters, comments or paid products, so we never collect passwords or payment details.

Cookies and affiliate links

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to tell one visit from another. When you click a “Check price on Amazon” button, a short /go/ redirect on our domain sends you to Amazon, and Amazon may set its own cookies to credit a purchase to our Associates account. Those cookies are governed by Amazon's privacy notice, not this one. We never see your Amazon account, shipping address or payment details. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.

What we never do

• Sell or rent personal information.
• Share your contact-form details with radio makers, brands or retailers.
• Add you to a mailing list or use your message for marketing.
• Knowingly collect information from children under 13. Our family pages are written for parents. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

Service providers

A small number of providers help run the site: our web host, Google (analytics) and Microsoft (email delivery for the contact form). They process data only as needed to provide those services. Amazon receives information only after you choose to follow a link to its store.

How long we keep messages

We keep contact emails only as long as they're useful for replying and for our record of corrections. Ask, and we'll delete yours.

Your choices

You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on or by blocking cookies. To ask what information we hold from a message you sent, or to have it deleted, email mike@blackironathletics.com. Depending on the state you live in, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and we'll honor valid requests.
